A new addition to the website- crypt.ucd.ie/poornima/mypage.php- google maps showing my location. The maps are basically updated using key words from my twitter status updates. Right now there are just two locations- work (UCD CASL) and home (Glenomena). So, if the word "work" appears in my latest tweet, UCD CASL is shown on the map. Similarly for "home," Glenomena is the location.
There are a few applications online that show markers on google maps based on the user locations, but, I didn't find anything that picks up words from the status message to show locations. This can be furthur developed to show many more locations. Also, each user can register geo-coordinates( locations) and give them names like- work, home, school, etc., and an application like this can pick up these words from their twitter status and determine their location.
Other than that, I am still working on a java program to determine if a Ubitag is moving/stationary. This will also appear on the website asap.
Started learning python. Looks cool..really like it. I haven't started coding anything for my project in this language though, since I am already using java code written by someone else for the Ubitag program.
